"If a Book is Well Written, I Always Find it too Short" ~ Jane Austen

Legend. I swear it's the next Hunger Game. This book by Marie Lu is one of my all time favorites. The quality of writing is incredible and the best part; this is one of those rare trilogies where the story only improves over time.

          "From different worlds,
          June and Day have no
          reason to cross paths...

          Until June's brother is
          Murdered, and Day becomes
          The prime suspect.

In a shocking turn of events,
          The two discover what had
          Really brought them
          Together, and the sinister
          Lengths to which their
          Country will go to
          Keep its secrets."

Taking place in a futuristic America, in which the country is divided and controlled by two main powers: the Republicans and the Patriots, the citizens are cut off from the rest of the world, this once nation of the free forming a new tradition known as the Trial.

This test mapped out the path they were to take, but left unmarked the hidden trails that lead to dark secrets. Day and June somehow find themselves in this unmarked territory, shock and betrayal around every corner. Everything they thought they knew is now uncertain, the mysterious plague only thickening the plot.

I promise no matter what types of books you are into, you will love this one. Proclaimed "Smart, sharp, fast paced" by entertainment weekly, Legend is all about "revenge, honor, freedom-
        And each other."

  1. This book sounds really interesting. Is it just one book or is it part of a series?

    1. Legend is part of the Legend Trilogy. The other two books are already out: Prodigy and Champion. Lauren is borrowing Legend at the moment, but I have Prodigy if you are interested.
